John James  is ordained a priest at Christ Church, Meadville.

AtTrinity Church, Pittsburgh Bishop Onderdonk ordains William Hilton and Francis Laird as priests and Lyman Freeman and Sanson Brunot as deacons.

John Henry Hopkins

The committee on a Western Theological Seminary reports that while highly expedient, that there are  "urgent" matters and that it be delayed until "circumstances warrant" it, but  a substitute motion passes referring the opening of a branch of General Seminary to the seminary board.  Disappointed, John Henry Hopkins accepts a call in 1831 to Trinity Church, Boston and in 1832 became the first bishop of Vermont.
