Then in 1936 the great St. Patrick’s Day flood sent water 10 feet above street level, doing considerable damage to the rectory, parish hall and church.  More valuable records and vestments were lost.  Many parishioners suffered personal losses, but no parishioners were among the 25 who died in Johnstown. The parish again went to work and restored the damage.  The Post Office shown in the picture is on the same street two blocks from the church.
