Water . . . St. Barnabas, Tarentum

Efforts to form a congregation in Tarentum began in the early 1880s and culminated with the building of a frame church in 1888-89 at the corner of Lock and Kennedy, only 4 blocks from the Allegheny River.  Within twenty years, the parish had added a hall and Sunday school building behind the church and refaced the church in brick.
