The First Annual Convention of the Episcopal Church in Pennsylvania gathers to create an association for the Protestant Episcopal Church in the State of Pennsylvania.  It elects deputies for General Convention.

20 June 1785

Bishop Samuel Seabury, ordained bishop by the Scottish Episcopal Church,  lands in Newport, Rhode Island  and heads for his home in Connecticut.

27 September 1785 – October 7, 1785

The first General Convention of the Episcopal Church convenes, creates a draft constitution and proposed Book of Common Prayer, and opens conversations with the Church of England about consecration of bishops.
