Deadlines approach for Elected Office Nominations, Lay Deputy Certification
We know, summer has not even officially started yet, but it's time to start looking ahead to our 145th Diocesan Convention on October 15-16, 2010, at Trinity Cathedral.
Recommendations are now being taken by the Nominating Committee for offices to be elected by the Convention. These include positions on the Standing Committee (one clergy, one lay), Board of Trustees (one lay), Committee on Canons (one clergy, one lay), the Array (two clergy, one lay), and General Convention Deputies (four clergy and four lay deputies, four clergy and four lay alternate deputies).
A recommendation form with full instructions is available by clicking here. The deadline for consideration by the committee is Thursday, July 1, 2010. The deadline for consideration by the committee has been extended to Monday, August 2, 2010.
All parishes are required to file a "Certification of Lay Deputies" form to ensure full representation at convention. The deadline for filing is Wednesday, June 30, 2010.
