Diocesan Commissions Seek Expert Help

Librarians, Historians, Archivists and Genealogists Needed

The Diocese is looking for people with training in library science, archives, history or genealogy to serve on the Commission on History and Archives. The six members will have 3 years terms. Initial appointments will be to terms of different lengths so that all appointments do not expire at the same time. The commission advises the bishop on matters related to the archives and any personnel and helps to draft policy for the care and management of our records. If you are interested in serving on this commission, or would like to nominate someone, contact Joan Gundersen at the diocesan office at 412-721-0853 or treasurer@episcopalpgh.org.

Commission on Architecture Needs Members

The diocesan canons require a commission of 6 people (3 clergy and 3 lay) of which two should be "architects skilled or experienced in ecclesiastical design, residing within or without the Diocese" to advise the bishop and diocesan bodies when churches propose major construction, renovation, or the building of a new structure. Terms are for one year (with reappointment possible) on this commission. If you are interested in serving on this commission, or would like to nominate someone, contact Joan Gundersen at the diocesan office.
