Local Churches Prepare For Vacation Bible Schools

Calvary Episcopal Church in Shadyside is offering "Egypt: Joseph's Journey from Prison to Palace" from June 21st to June 24th, 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the church and concludes on June 25th with a field trip to Carnegie Museum to see the Walton Hall of Ancient Egypt. St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Mt. Lebanon, has "Renew: the Green VBS," based on the parable of the sower, on July 12th through the 16th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Activities include putting together an All Parish Farmers Market on July 15 and a family cookout in Bird Park on July 16. St. Peter's, Brentwood's "SonQuest Rainforest" will be held July 12th through July 16th from 9 a.m. to Noon. The focus is on five key Bible verses that will change your child's life, including John 3:16. The fee is $7.50 per child and covers all costs, including snacks and drinks. A special $20 rate is available for families of three or more children.

Christ Church, North Hills, is presenting "God's Great Gallery" from June 21 to June 25, 2010, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. Parents are requested to send donations to food pantries and provide snacks for the VBS in lieu of tuition. The registration deadline has passed but the church is actively looking for youth volunteers from the North Hills area to help with the program. Call 412-364-2442 for more information.
