Calvary Camp’s 75th Anniversary Celebration

Sheldon Calvary Camp has been home to tens of thousands of youths over the years, a place where they have found friendship, spirituality, faith, and fun. The memories and stories run deep into the foundation of many.

Join us this year as we celebrate the generous gift of Mrs. Sheldon and the 75 years of ministry begun by the Rt. Rev. William S. Thomas.

This 75th Anniversary year is a calling for both preservation and celebration. We are called to hear the voices of former Calvary campers and staff members by collecting and preserving the rich tradition and history of Sheldon Calvary Camp. We are also called to gather our great community and celebrate the outcome of the hard work and dedication of so many for so long.

Join us for a night of celebration on December 30th, 2011.  We will be closing out our 75th year in style (business casual or your finest camp costume) at the Sheraton Station Square in Pittsburgh, PA.  Explore the history of Sheldon Calvary Camp through our collection of photos and camp memorabilia. We will also have a gift basket raffle and special 75th Anniversary Calvary Camp merchandise.

The doors open at 7:00 p.m. for mingling, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar. At 8:30 p.m. we will have a short program to visit where we've been, what we are doing, where we are going and recognizing a few people who have helped us make the journey. Our evening will conclude at 11:00 p.m.

Sheldon Calvary Camp Mission Statement

Our mission is to offer to campers…children, young adults and families…an environment where spiritual growth is encouraged and self-esteem is fostered. We seek to build a Christian community, which nurtures friendship, models the acceptance of individual differences and values all of God’s creation. From this summer experience of God’s love, we work to help campers integrate their faith into everyday life and carry the joyful spirit of Calvary Camp back into their families and communities.
