Sheldon Calvary Camp: Building Christian Communities for 75 Years

Calvary Camp has been, and is, a place that invites, inspires and transforms the lives of families and children in faithful community. To honor the history and heritage of this wonderful ministry we have created two special events and ask that you might consider sharing in either or both of these joyful occasions.

We will be holding an Alumni weekend from July 2nd to the 5th and all members of the camp family are welcome to attend. Please visit the 75th Anniversary tab on our website for more information and to learn more about the registration process.

Bishop Thomas ChapelWe will also be holding an event in Pittsburgh on December 30th and details are still in the works.

The 75th Anniversary Committee has been hard at work to make these two events something that you will not want to miss. If you have any questions regarding either event, please feel free to call the camp at 440-593-4381 or  email tim@calvarycamp.org.

In keeping with the Calvary spirit of sharing, we also invite you to share your stories, pictures, memorabilia, and/or trivia with members of the 75th Anniversary Committee. Please click here to help us preserve Calvary's rich history.

PBishop Thomas and his shadowictured on the right is the Rev. William S. Thomas, the founder of Calvary Camp, in a photo from about the time he created the camp in 1936. Father Thomas was later elected Bishop Suffragan of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. A Calvary Camp t-shirt will be awarded to the first person who can correctly identify the youngster standing in the future bishop's shadow. Email your guess to 75th@calvarycamp.org.  The winner will be announced in a future Grace Happens.

Here's to another 75 years!
