John Bell Workshops

Registration Deadline Nears

Register by March 1 to attend any of the Rev. John Bell's three-part workshop, "Why Do God's People Sing?," taking place March 12 & 13, at East Liberty Presbyterian Church, in partnership with Church of the Redeemer in Squirrel Hill.

The Rev. Bell, a leader of the Iona Community and a minister with the Church of Scotland, is an acclaimed musician and compiler of Hymns of Glory, Songs of Praise.

He will preach during Holy Eucharist at Redeemer on Sunday, March 14, 10:30 a.m.

The three workshops are:

     ♦ "Why do God's People Sing?" sampling congregational songs of the Iona Community, Friday, March 12, 7:00-9:00 p.m.

     ♦ "Celebrating the Lesser Known Jesus," prominent themes in Scripture with a low-profile in the church. Saturday, March 13, 9:00 a.m. – noon.

     ♦ "Scripture as a Source for Song," first-person, singular songs of devotion versus songs of the faith witnessed to in the Hebrew Scriptures and New Testament. Saturday, March 13, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
