Happenings at St. Matthew’s in Homestead

St. Matthew's in Homestead continues to worship and gather as a "family" as they minister to the residents of Homestead.

We also would like the diocese to be aware of a project undertaken by the young people of our church.  Five of our children, ages 7 to 17, held a Read-a-Thon during Lent to raise money to assist the people of Haiti.  They raised $270.00 for Episcopal Relief & Development to purchase a pig, a flock of chickens, a goat, and a hive of bees.  We have received notification from ER&D that their gift is on its way.

This was made possible by our children who saw the need and coordinated the love and support of their families, their parish family and their neighbors. They are all to be commended.
