Erie Diocese Honors Its Past, Involving Us

One hundred years ago, the Episcopal Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania was formed out of what was then a relatively young Diocese of Pittsburgh.

This year, Northwestern Pennsylvania extends an invitation back to help celebrate its centennial, "Honoring Our Past, Imagining Our Future," at two special events during the diocese's annual convention.

♦ A gala banquet and dance begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, November 5, at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie. Tickets are $30.

♦ A Eucharist in Celebration of the Centennial will be held at the Cathedral of St. Paul at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 6.

Bishop Price will represent the Diocese of Pittsburgh at both events. Those interested in attending the Friday banquet should RSVP with name, mailing address, and number attending by October 22 to Judi Rogers by email at jrogers@episcopalpgh.org or 412-721-0853. Pre-registration is required. Tickets will be mailed in advance from Erie, however, checks should be made payable to the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh.

Clergy interested in participating in Saturday's Eucharist should also RSVP to jrogers@episcopalpgh.org so that sufficient space is reserved. Stole color is pending.

Those needing overnight accommodations should make their own reservations. A special rate of $99 is available at the Sheraton Bayfront Hotel (814-454-2005) when registering under "Episcopal Diocese."
