Episcopal Church Foundation’s Fellowship Partners Program

Since 1964, the Episcopal Church Foundation’s Fellowship Partners Program has supported 244 lay and clergy leaders whose academic research and ministry initiatives have strengthened the leadership and vitality of The Episcopal Church. This year, we are pleased to introduce a Pilot Lay Leader Development Track, expanding the Fellowship’s reach to support emerging lay leaders pursuing formal training, licensure, or formation.

Here’s what applicants must know before applying:

  • Applicants apply to one of three tracks:
  • Academic Track: Designed for lay or clergy individuals pursuing graduate or postgraduate study in fields where The Episcopal Church can broaden its scholarship and expertise.
  • Ministry Track: Designed for emerging lay or clergy ministry leaders developing innovative projects within their community or congregation.
  • Pilot Lay Leader Development Track: Designed for active lay members aiming to strengthen their ministries through structured training or formation.
  • Academic and Ministry fellowships offer financial support of up to $15,000 in the first year, with options for renewal.
  • Lay Leader Development fellowships offer up to $5,000 in financial support. New ECF Fellows also join a vibrant network of past Fellows and Episcopal Church Foundation partners, connecting with peers and mentors across the Church.
  • Applications are due by March 18, 2026. Selected Fellows will be announced in June 2026.
