A Gift Has Been Made In Your Honor
December 23, 2025
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh is pleased to make a donation to Hello Neighbor in honor of the people and parishes of the diocese. As is our practice, Christmas-tide donations are made in lieu of printing and mailing individual greetings throughout the diocese.
Founded in 2017, Hello Neighbor is a local nonprofit devoted to welcoming and empowering newly resettled refugee and immigrant families.
Half of their staff have lived migration experience, and together, they speak over 25 languages, ensuring genuine empathy, cultural resonance, and accessible support for our community.
They ensure refugees and immigrants in Pittsburgh can thrive, not just survive – providing culturally responsive support in housing, healthcare, employment, education, and community-building. Their services are rooted in dignity and respect, delivered by those who deeply understand the journey firsthand.
Globally, the forced displacement crisis has never been more urgent. As of 2025, a record-breaking 122 million people are forcibly displaced worldwide, nearly double the figure from a decade ago. Families are fleeing violence, war, and persecution at unprecedented levels, while humanitarian aid is shrinking.
At this moment, new neighbors need the services of Hello Neighbor more than ever. In Pittsburgh, Hello Neighbor is committed to being the warm welcome families deserve, from the moment they arrive through the years they spend rebuilding their lives with dignity, resilience, and hope.
Visit https://www.helloneighbor.io and read much more about their amazing impact in our community. We are honored to be able to support them and hope you will join us.
From the entire diocesan staff, our best wishes for a blessed Christmas.
