\n\tOn the Margins<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tFrom the 1820s to 1850 western Pennsylvania's Episcopalians struggled to gain the attention of easterners in the diocese.  While the diocese began providing yearly visits by a bishop after 1825,  much of the diocese's missionary funds went to projects outside the state or missions in the east.  Nonetheless, in the 1830s and 1840s, a number of western parishes sprang up in towns along major transportation routes.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
