\n\tFor a decade and a half, those who wanted to to create a new diocese in the western portion of the state dealt with one tactic after another designed to delay or defeat such a division. The outbreak of the Civil War further complicated matters. As the struggles went on, so did the maturing of the region and development of its parishes. In the end persistence paid off.  <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
