\n\tSt. Luke's Georgetown<\/em><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen a deputy appears from St. Luke’s, Georgetown, a question arises as to whether it has ever been admitted to union with the diocese.  Georgetown appeared on the 1814 list of parishes, but has not participated in convention until now.  After reviewing how that list was created, the committee concludes that the list did determine who was in union with the convention as of that date (Brownsville and Pittsburgh are also on that 1814 list), so the deputy was seated and Georgetown deemed admitted.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe committee on a western seminary report that it is “highly expedient” that such a seminary be created, but asks to continue the discussion to the next convention so that there may be more planning. The memorial to the convention was signed by the Rev. John Hopkins and 69 others, and its contents, but not the names, included in the reports at the end of the journal.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
