Trinity Cathedral Needs You!

The Provost and Chapter of Trinity Cathedral are asking clergy and brave lay persons to consider volunteering to spend a half-day shift in the Cathedral sanctuary to help the Cathedral keep its sanctuary open for Christian hospitality, prayer, and worship during the G-20 Summit, Thursday and Friday, September 24 & 25.

The Cathedral normally offers public worship three times a day:

•  Morning Prayer at 8:45 am
•  Holy Eucharist at 12:05 pm
•  Evening Prayer at 4:45 pm

We would like to continue our regular round of worship as well as be available to offer Christian hospitality and spiritual nurture to those in town for the Summit. However, we do not by ourselves have the necessary people resources to keep the sanctuary and building welcoming and secure.

If you would be willing to serve roughly a four hour shift from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm or 12:30 pm to 5 pm on either Thursday or Friday, please e-mail your contact information to Kate Ferrick at office@trinitycathedralpgh.org or Canon Cathy Brall at brall@trinitycathedralpgh.org or phone the Cathedral at (412) 232-6404.

Getting to Trinity Cathedral:

At present, both driving to a public parking lot within a half-mile walk of the Cathedral or taking public transportation to downtown seem to be possible options. Please take a look at the official Downtown Transportation Plan. Also, please make sure to allow extra time for travel and pray for extra patience and grace in travel because of the unpredictable nature of an event like this.
