St. Brendan’s Welcomes New Rector

St. Brendan's in Franklin Park has hired a full-time rector, the Rev. D. Scott Russell, who celebrated his first Sunday service there on November 3.

Fr. Russell comes from Blacksburg, Virginia, where he was the associate rector at Christ Church for ten years and at the same time a chaplain at Virginia Tech. Prior to Christ Church, he served for several years at Church of the Nativity in Crafton, Pennsylvania, where he was ordained to the priesthood in 2002. He holds a Master of Divinity from Trinity School of Ministry in Ambridge and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Asbury University in Kentucky.

"I am excited to begin a new chapter at St. Brendan's filled with hope and possibility," said Fr. Russell. "I look forward to working with the parish to further share with the community the outreach, inclusiveness and liturgical tradition that makes St. Brendan's such a special place."
