Detailed information and documents for the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh’s Special Convention, with its closing Eucharist and Ordination, December 12 and 13, are available on this page.

Please plan to attend this Special Convention, an historic event in the life of our Diocese. Events begin Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. with Evensong at St. Paul’s, Mt. Lebanon, followed by a reception at 7:30 p.m. The business session of the Convention begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. Agenda items include a State of the Diocese report, elections, adoption of resolutions, and budget presentation and adoption.

All are invited the ordination of the Rev. Kris Opat, Curate at St. Paul’s Mt. Lebanon, to the priesthood. The service will start at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, followed by a reception. This is a very special event in the life of our diocesan community, and it stands as a strong positive statement about the vitality and vibrancy of our life in Christ together. The Rt. Rev. David Jones, Bishop Suffragan of Virginia, will preside, and other Bishops are expected to participate, along with the clergy of the Diocese.

If you would like to attend and/or participate in the Convention, the Diocese is asking you to register in advance and pay a registration fee of $10 to help defray the costs of the Convention. There is a form with instructions that is available by clicking here.

If you are coming only for the ordination service, you do not need to register.
