St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Oakmont, PA is seeking a dedicated, hardworking person to coordinate lay ministries at this parish on a part-time basis.

Key responsibilities include:

Evaluate opportunities for lay ministry
Recruit, evaluate and train laypersons to conduct ministry
Coordinate adult education and small group ministries
Complement the work of the Welcome Committee
Serve as a resource to the rector, staff and existing lay leadership

The successful applicant will possess:

High school diploma
Excellent organizational skills
Basic computer skills
Good communications and listening skills

Applicant must also be:

A Christian and an Episcopalian, or a person who is familiar with the Episcopal Church
Willing to reside on-site in an apartment on the parish campus
Capable of climbing stairs and negotiating modest inclined ramps

The position is offered as a 17-hour-a-week position, including some weekend and evening work.

Remuneration will consist of provision of an apartment located on the third floor of the Thomas House on the parish campus. No pets allowed.
