Deadlines approach for Elected Office Nominations, Lay Deputy Certification, Resolutions.

We know, summer has not even officially started yet, but it's time to start looking ahead to our 146th Diocesan Convention on November 4 & 5, 2011, at Christ Episcopal Church, North Hills.

Recommendations are now being taken by the Nominating Committee for offices to be elected by the Convention. These include positions on the Standing Committee (one clergy, one lay for four-year terms), Board of Trustees (two lay for three-year terms), Committee on Canons (one clergy, one lay for three-year terms), the Disciplinary Board (two clergy, one lay for three-year terms), and the Growth Fund (one member for three-year term).

A recommendation form with full instructions is available by clicking here. The deadline for consideration by the committee is Friday, July 15, 2011.

The Call for Resolutions applies to any parish or individual who wishes to propose a resolution for the Convention. The deadline to submit resolutions is Friday, August 12, 2011. The document with submission instructions can be found here.

All parishes are required to file a "Certification of Lay Deputies" form with the diocese to ensure full representation at convention. The deadline for filing is July 15, 2011. The certification form and related instructions are available by clicking here.

Bob Johnston, Diocesan Council's Judge of Audits, sent a letter addressed to all parish rectors, priests-in-charge and treasurers outlining diocesan policies and procedures for submitting audit information.

A deadline of June 15 has been established for submitting the name of the auditing firm, or if using a committee, the names and qualifications of each of its members, to the diocese. A copy of the letter can be found here.
