On Saturday, January 29, the Rt. Rev. Kenneth L. Price, Jr. admitted Ms. Gwen Santiago as a Postulant for ordination to the priesthood upon the recommendation of the Commission on Ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Ms. Santiago was nominated for Postulancy by the Rector and Vestry of St. Stephen's McKeesport. She has been working with the Commission on Ministry for the past several months during which time she performed a parish internship at St. Stephen's Wilkinsburg and a clinical internship at the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center in Johnstown. Ms. Santiago has an M.Div. from Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge.
Postulancy involves continued exploration of and decision about the Postulant's call to the priesthood. Over the next several months she will be considered for the next step in the discernment and ordination process, Candidacy for ordination.
