Representatives of the Nomination Committee are now visiting every congregation in the diocese to engage parishioners in a discussion about what they value in their parish, their hopes for the future, and the kind of leader the diocese needs.

Members of All Souls, North Versailles, were the first on March 20th, but within about two months, all parishioners in the diocese will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns about the selection of the next Bishop.

More than a simple presentation or Q&A about the search process, these forums are structured to give everyone a voice in shaping a key instrument that will be used to screen candidates. The Nomination Committee will use the outcome of the discussions to publish a diocesan Profile later this summer. The Profile gives both potential candidates and the diocese a template by which all nominees will be evaluated.

"We are honoring our commitment to an open and transparent process, and by going to each parish we can hear from as many people as choose to participate," said the Nomination Committee chair, Dana Phillips.

Parish forums scheduled to-date are listed below. Clergy will have additional copies of the materials to distribute as needed to the home-bound. A survey will also be available on the diocesan website in May for those unable to attend any forum.
