Movie Night at St. Paul’s, Mt. Lebanon

In keeping with our 2011 diocesan Race Against Hunger theme, the Diocesan Committee for Social Justice and St. Paul's Outreach Commission are pleased to present a provocative and informative film, FRESH, about the American system of producing food for the market.

The movie FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system. Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for a future of our food and our planet.

All are invited to attend. Hosted at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1066 Washington Road in Mt. Lebanon, the evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a light meal featuring local farm products; a donation of $5 is requested to benefit a local food bank. A brief presentation will begin at 7 p.m. by Jim Guffey, Executive Director of South Hills Interfaith Ministries, and the movie will begin at 7:30 (running time is 72 minutes), with discussion to follow. Please join us for this important film! We hope to see you.
