Haiti Campaign A Success With 100% Parish Participation Reported

Nancy Lapp, chair of the diocesan Social Justice & Outreach committee, reported at their August 23 meeting on the progress of the Haiti Cathedral renovation project.

The Diocese has met the challenge from Calvary Church to match their generous pledge of $25,000.

Altogether pledges total $54,768 of which $42,424 have been received.  All parishes of the Diocese have participated.

"I am immensely gratified by the response of our diocese to the challenge of raising $50,000 to help with the rebuilding of Haiti's Cathedral,"  said Bishop Ken Price after reviewing the report. "Perhaps because we are so immersed in rebuilding our own diocese, our people took to this project and in record time, not only matched Calvary Church's gift, but exceeded it."

Bishop Ken added, "Being able to share with Episcopalians all over the world in this project has reinforced how we are all connected to one another in the Body of Christ. Thank you all for your generous participation."
