Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Information

Information for the Sharpsburg Habitat project parish representatives:

As mentioned in the organizing meetings and in the recent Grace Happens newsletter, below are some simple instructions for Habitat project parish representatives to register volunteers for this important project.

Beginning May 8th, the work days will be Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays in May and June. There will be no work on  Saturday, May 22, Saturday, May 29, and Tuesday, June 1.  The site is limited to 8-12 workers each day which lasts from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is the possibility that the project could be extended into July.

Please send the following information by email to Christina Bologna at CBologna@pittsburghhabitat.org:

    1. Your name and the name of your church with your contact information: address, cell phone and email.

    2. The names of your volunteers with contact information: address, phone and email.

Also, when you know the dates which your team or teams can volunteer, email Christina the exact dates they are available with the names of the volunteers. She will take care of completing the schedule and confirm the dates with you.

There is an opportunity for volunteers to work on May 8, after the introductory program from the Bishop and the Habitat staff. Registration is necessary if any of your volunteers would like to work that day. As a special occasion they can accept up to 20 to 25 volunteers that day. To reserve your space, register as soon as possible. Wear work clothes (no sandals) and bring a lunch.

We suggest that you register for the earliest times you have available and as soon as possible so you get your preferred dates. We realize many of you can only work on Saturday, but we hope that some work may be done on Tuesdays and Thursdays also.  A team from a Church can consist of one or more volunteers. Just remember that registration is necessary through the Church representative who will be in contact with Christina. If you have questions do not hesitate to contact Christina (412-466-6710) or Nancy Lapp at nlapp@pts.edu.

We look forward to seeing many of you on May 8th, and look forward to working with you in the days ahead.
