Episcopal Church, Moravians, to Celebrate Full Communion

A festive inaugural service February 10th in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, will celebrate full communion between the Episcopal Church and the Northern and Southern Provinces of the Moravian Church in North America.

The service will incorporate elements of both the Episcopal and Moravian liturgies. Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori and presidents of the two Moravian Provincial Elders' Conferences will celebrate.

Dr. Joan Gundersen will be attending as a representative of Bishop Price and the diocese.

Full communion was approved at the 2009 General Convention. At the time, a Moravian church elder introduced his denomination to our diocese. Read his account at https://www.episcopalpgh.org/moravians-who-are-they/
