News was released this morning that weekend closures of the Fort Pitt Tunnel will create some necessary detours for those planning to commute via the tunnel to the 150th Convention at St. Paul's, Mt. Lebanon this weekend.

What this means for convention is as follows:

  • Fort Pitt Tunnel and Parkway will be OPEN for Friday night drive to and from Mt. Lebanon. It will close outbound (to Mt. Lebanon) at 9 p.m.

  • Fort Pitt Tunnel and Parkway will be CLOSED for Saturday morning drive to Mt. Lebanon.

  • Fort Pitt Tunnel and Parkway will be OPEN for Saturday afternoon drive back from Mt. Lebanon and will not close until 9 p.m.

Detours will be posted but please allow extra time for the commute.

A clear alternate route would be via the Liberty Tunnels and continue on RT. 19 South to St. Paul's. This alternate route may have additional traffic so extra time Saturday morning should be allowed.
