Carl Hockenberry joined the diocesan staff on February 16, 2011, and serves as Director of Administration and Treasurer, currently on a part-time (75%) basis. He is a certified public accountant with 25 years of public accounting and industry experience ranging from working primarily as an auditor for national and regional public accounting firms to serving as CFO of a manufacturer. Carl also has a public accounting practice where he primarily provides audit and accounting services to small businesses and non-profit entities.

Carl’s journey to a senior diocesan leadership position follows a similar path started 9 years ago at St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church in Franklin Park. At St. Brendan’s, he donated his accounting services from 2002 through 2004 when he installed Power Church accounting software, trained the Treasurer and Administrative Assistant in its use, and assisted with the monthly accounting. He served on St. Brendan’s audit committee for 2008 and 2009 and as Parish Treasurer for 2010 and 2011.
