A Super Bowl Loss? Not Here (Nor There)

When Bishop Ken Price recently talked with his good friend, Bishop Russell Jacobus of Fond du Lac (i.e. Green Bay), both men agreed the Super Bowl would result in a tie. No, make that a win/win.

The two decided to donate food to a ministry in the other diocese, regardless of the final score.

Pittsburgh has arranged to send enough pierogies to Wisconsin to feed 100, along with a dessert of Smiley Cookies generously provided by Eat'n Park. The Diocese of Fond du Lac is sending us an equal-size portion of brats to feed our hungry.

"Sports fans want winners, but in the work of the church, there are no losers," said Bishop Price. Bishop Jacobus agrees, saying "We don't need the excuse of a football game to help those in need, but it's kind of fun."

That fun will continue next month when Bishop Jacobus dons black and gold, and Bishop Price wears green and gold, during a House of Bishops meeting in North Carolina.

What city will the Penguins help us feed?
